Inspired by the natural aging process of leather, this coffee table celebrates the beauty of materials that evolve with use. I believe furniture should invite interaction and develop character over time. As the leather softens and acquires a patina, each mark and crease becomes a record of life lived, giving the piece a unique identity and lasting sense of warmth.
I wanted to create a contrast between worn-in leather and silver hardware. As the leather softens over time, I developed a way to retighten it using a belt buckle as the solution.
